Welcome to UnrealHQ ("we", "our", "the Service"). By registering for or using UnrealHQ, you agree to these Terms. Read them carefully. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
You must be at least 18 years of age to use UnrealHQ. By registering, you confirm that you are 18 or older. We do not knowingly collect data from users under 18. If we discover that a user under 18 has registered, we will immediately terminate their account and delete associated data.
UnrealHQ is not directed at minors. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of 18. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal information, message Whispered Insanity on Discord immediately and we will delete it.
Certain content on UnrealHQ may be marked as Not Safe For Work (NSFW) or intended for adults only. Access to such content requires explicit opt-in confirmation that you are 18+ and consent to viewing mature material. NSFW content is not shown by default. You may toggle NSFW access in your account settings at any time.
Users who create NSFW content are responsible for ensuring it does not depict minors in any form, real or fictional. A character presented as, or resembling, a minor may not be placed in any sexual or romantic context, whatever the stated age; we will remove such characters and their bots without notice. Violation of this policy will result in immediate account termination and may be reported to law enforcement.
On Discord, characters flagged 18+ speak only in channels or servers Discord has marked age-restricted, and in direct messages. This is enforced by the platform and cannot be turned off by a creator or a server.
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. Do not share your password. You must provide accurate information when registering (including your date of birth). Providing false age information is a violation of these Terms.
We reserve the right to review, moderate, or remove any content that violates these Terms, applicable laws, or our community guidelines. Prohibited content includes but is not limited to: content involving minors, hate speech, threats, doxxing, and illegal material.
Admin staff may decrypt character prompts stored in our system for moderation review. Every such access is logged with the reviewer's identity, a required reason, and timestamp. This is disclosed here as part of our transparency commitment.
We encrypt character prompts and API keys at rest using AES-256-GCM. Discord bot tokens are also encrypted at rest. Passwords are hashed with bcrypt. Despite these measures, no system is perfectly secure. Do not store highly sensitive information in character prompts.
UnrealHQ integrates with third-party services including Discord (for bot hosting) and AI providers such as OpenAI and Anthropic (for language model access). Use of these services is subject to their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the practices of third-party services.
Every bot on UnrealHQ is a Discord application that you create in the Discord Developer Portal and own. When you register that application's token with UnrealHQ, you engage UnrealHQ as your service provider in the sense of Discord's Developer Terms of Service: UnrealHQ operates your application only for you and at your direction, uses Discord's API and the data obtained through it solely to provide the features you have chosen for that bot, and agrees to comply with Discord's Developer Terms and Developer Policy as if standing in your place. You remain the owner of the application and the developer of record, responsible for it under Discord's terms, including any verification Discord may require if it grows large. You may withdraw the engagement at any time by deleting the bot from the Command Center, which discards its token, or by resetting the token in the Developer Portal.
You agree not to register an application that you do not own or control, and not to use UnrealHQ to operate a bot in any way that would breach Discord's terms.
Your API keys for third-party AI providers are encrypted in our database and only decrypted at the time of use. We do not share your API keys with anyone.
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. Conversation history may be automatically summarized and pruned after configurable retention periods. You may request full account deletion at any time (see Section 9).
Bots store the messages they can see in the channels they are in, so that characters can remember a
story; that is the only purpose. We never use message content to train or fine-tune AI models, and
we never sell or share it. Anyone on Discord, whether or not they have an UnrealHQ account, can have
every bot forget them with the /forgetme command, or by messaging the admin (Section 13).
Server administrators can clear a bot's memory of a channel with /strike.
You have the right to delete your account and all associated data at any time. You can do this yourself from the Control Room: open Account settings, go to the Danger Zone, type DELETE, and confirm with your password. Deletion is immediate and permanent: your running bots are stopped, your characters, conversations, personas, and settings are removed, and your sessions are invalidated. You can download a copy of your data first using "Export My Data" in the same panel.
If you cannot use the self-serve option (for example, a Discord-only account with no password), message Whispered Insanity (the UnrealHQ admin) on Discord with the subject line "Account Deletion Request". We will process your request within 30 days and send confirmation.
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, UnrealHQ and its operators shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, data, or goodwill.
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify registered users by email of material changes. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
